Powerball Vs Race for Life
This year, I will be running the Race for Life... but with a twist (or a spin?) - I'll be powerballing the whole way! The Race for Life is a 5k charity run in aid of Cancer Research UK. This year will be my first year partcipating and I'll be running at Bristol on 18th May 2008. Don't get me wrong... I'm no athlete. One enormous child (over 11 1/2lb at birth...), a dodgy back and a surgery or two later I'm a couple of stone heavier than I should be and my stamina packed its bags and went on holiday a long time ago. Its reluctantly being coaxed back with my twice weekly training runs and weekly workouts (not to mention my powerball sessions!).
My target is to achieve 250,000 revs whilst completing the 5k run in around 30 minutes, thus maintaining approx 8333 rpm for the duration of the run. The catch obviously being, the faster I run, the less time I have to do the revs!! If you are able to feature my sponsorship link on the site that would be fantastic, I'm at http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/tilnoom
I'm trying to encourage my brother to contact you to replace his neon rotor... so I can borrow it for training - how cool would it be to see a neon bobbing along the pavement in the evening? :) Assuming of course I don't cause any accidents as drivers go pass staring and saying "What the...?" :)
Any help, support, freebie t-shirts, balls, wads of sponsorship cash, etc all appreciated :) I can get my husband to takes some pics if you want them.
Cheers!
Sharon, aka Tils.
